Afrobeats star Davido has joined the growing number of Nigerians demanding the release of social media activist VeryDarkMan, who was reportedly arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Friday.
Although details surrounding the arrest remain unclear, sources suggest the controversial social media critic was apprehended after visiting a commercial bank in Abuja to lodge a complaint about alleged unauthorised deductions from his mother’s account.
Reacting to the news, Davido took to his X (formerly Twitter) handle to express support for VeryDarkMan and called for his immediate release. The singer’s post adds to the mounting public pressure on authorities to clarify the circumstances of the arrest and ensure due process.
