Iran has unveiled a new solid-fuel ballistic missile with a range of 1,200 kilometres, further stoking tensions with Western nations over its growing missile programme.
The announcement has sparked renewed concern in Western capitals, where officials accuse Tehran of destabilising the Middle East through its military advancements and support for militant groups.
Iran is known to back the “axis of resistance” — a network of armed groups hostile to Israel, including Hezbollah in Lebanon, Hamas in the Gaza Strip, Yemen’s Houthi rebels, and various Shiite militias in Iraq.
The development comes amid heightened regional tensions and ongoing scrutiny of Iran’s military ambitions.
