The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) governorship candidate in Bauchi state, Haliru Dauda Jika, has defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). Jika was received by the APC national chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje at the national secretariat of the party in Abuja on Wednesday, September 27.
Ganduje said Jika must have realised that the ‘Kwankwasiyya backed’ NNPP was “deceitful and exploitative.”
According to the Guardian, while receiving Jika and his group into the APC, Ganduje removed the red cap of the Kwankwasiyya group and replaced it with President Bola Tinubu’s signature cap bearing the unbroken chain insignia.
