Educational Exchange, UK Drills A’Ibom Principals on School Mgt, Curriculum Development

As part of the United Kingdom and Akwa Ibom State Government educational exchange program, principals of public secondary schools in the state have been trained on proper school management and curriculum development.

The Senior Education Advisor of Southwark Council, UK, David Bromfield during a visit to Akwa Ibom state had sessions with principals on Leadership in Education and Curriculum Inspection in Uyo at the weekend.

Recall that Bromfield was part of the UK delegation when the Akwa Ibom State Government and the United Kingdom sealed a deal earlier in a visit with the Southwark Council, led by the Mayor, Mr. Michael Situ at Government House, Uyo, earlier in the week.

The two-day education upscaling skills workshop which ended at the weekend is part of the Akwa Ibom – United Kingdom Educational exchange program in education, sports, and culture.

Bromfield during the training introduced viable ways to administer leadership among teaching staff and evolve new methods of curriculum development that would yield positive results in general performance.

On Leadership in Education, the Education Advisor encouraged school principals to imbibe change in policies and administration, while obeying the tenets of authentic and transformational leadership in their respective schools.

The principals also had first-hand information on how educational administration and curriculum development is done in parts of the UK. The trainees thereafter explored ways to domesticate the ideas and initiatives.
