#EndBadGovernance: Nigerians will continue to protest – CHRAN Director

The Center for Human Rights and Accountability Network (CHRAN), has asserted that Nigerians will continue to exercise their constitutionally guaranteed rights to hold peaceful protests to draw the attention of the government to the bad governance in the country, noting that the President, Bola Tinubu, is a father of protest who had involved in several protests against bad governance in the past before becoming the President of the country.

The Center made the statement through its Director, Otuekong Franklyn Isong, in a live television programme on Spectrum TV in Uyo on Tuesday, 3rd September, 2024.

The Center described the attempts by the agents of the state to suppress and intimidate peaceful protesters as barbaric, uncivilised, and undemocratic, calling for the unconditional release of all peaceful protesters arrested during and after the #EndBadGovernance protest in Nigeria.

The Center called on the Nigerian government to focus its energy on fixing the economy and easing the costs of living in the country, and Nigerians will have no reason to embark on peaceful protest.
