Federal Government reviews expatriate quota administration

The Federal Government has reaffirmed its commitment to transparency and accountability in managing expatriate quotas, following recent allegations of irregularities in the oil sector.

This comes after the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria staged a protest last week at Sterling Oil Exploration and Energy Production Company’s headquarters in Lagos, accusing the firm of prioritising expatriates over qualified Nigerian professionals.

The incident has raised concerns about the management of expatriate quotas in the country.

Addressing the issue in a statement, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, Magdalene Ajani, acknowledged the concerns and assured the public that proactive measures are being taken to address them.
