Nigeria and the U.S. have expressed commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation between them through various economic sectors.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Amb. Yusuf Tuggar, disclosed this in a statement by Alkasim Abdulkadir, his Special Assistant on Media and Communications Strategy in Abuja.
Tuggar disclosed that the commitment is the outcome of an inaugural virtual meeting with the U.S. Deputy-Secretary of State, Christopher Landau, to discuss areas of mutual interest between Nigeria and the U.S.
He stated that Nigeria is ready to partner with the new US President Trump administration to foster shared goals and enhance bilateral relations.
On Nigeria’s commitment to structured migration solutions, Tuggar pointed to initiatives such as the Technical Aide Corps, which deploys Nigerian professionals to other nations to support development efforts.
He reiterated that such programmes provide a more organised approach to migration, while benefiting both Nigeria and its international partners.
