Retired nurses have highlighted the importance of adopting and maintaining healthy lifestyles after childbirth, stressing that the health-seeking behaviour of mothers directly impacts their newborns.
Speaking under the aegis of the Retired Nurse Administrators’ Healthcare Initiatives, they cautioned nursing mothers against cutting corners or resorting to self-medication due to the prevailing economic challenges.
They made the call during a sensitisation programme to mark the 2025 World Health Day at the Isolo General Hospital, Lagos.
Reports say World Health Day is celebrated annually on April 7 to raise awareness of global health challenges, with the theme for this year tagged ‘Healthy Beginnings, Hopeful Futures’.
