The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has declared that President Bola Tinubu’s two years in office have brought no tangible benefits to Nigerians, but rather increased suffering and hardship.
In a strongly worded statement, the NLC criticised the administration’s economic policies, removal of fuel subsidy, and currency reforms, which it said have worsened living conditions, eroded wages, and plunged more citizens into poverty.
The labour union accused the government of failing to provide relief measures, despite promises of palliatives and support for vulnerable households. It also expressed concerns over rising inflation, food insecurity, and the continued decline in workers’ purchasing power.
The NLC called for immediate policy review and meaningful dialogue with labour unions to address the worsening economic situation.
