Nigeria Governors’ Forum Condemns Benue Killings, Declares Solidarity with Victims

The Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) has condemned the brutal attack on residents of Yelewata and Daudu in Guma Local Government Area of Benue State.

In a press statement signed by its chairman, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, who is the Governor of Kwara State, the Forum described the heinous act as a grievous affront to human dignity which must be condemned by all.

The NGF extended its condolences to the Governor of Benue State, Hyacinth Alia, and the affected communities in Guma Local Government Area, stressing that no society should be made to endure such atrocities.

“The Nigeria Governors’ Forum stands in unwavering solidarity with the bereaved families and the state government at this time of profound sorrow,” the statement said.

The Forum further called for swift action to bring the perpetrators to justice and urged all stakeholders to collaborate in finding lasting solutions to the violence affecting parts of Benue State.
