Trump Met with Boos and Cheers at FIFA Club World Cup Final

Former U.S. President Donald Trump experienced both cheers and jeers on Sunday during the FIFA Club World Cup final, where he was a central figure at the trophy presentation.

Trump, accompanied by FIFA President Gianni Infantino, was met with a mix of applause and loud boos as he walked onto the pitch at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey to present the trophy to Chelsea, who emerged champions. Stadium music was quickly turned up as the reactions echoed through the crowd.

Despite the mixed reception, Trump appeared undeterred. Dressed in his signature red tie, he grinned, clapped, and even jumped with Chelsea players as he handed the trophy to captain Reece James and celebrated with the team.

Earlier, Trump and First Lady Melania Trump were applauded by some sections of the crowd upon their arrival. However, when Trump was shown saluting during the U.S. national anthem on the big screen, more boos followed, prompting a quick cut away by the broadcast.

Unfazed, Trump went on to award trophies to standout players, including the Golden Ball to Chelsea’s Cole Palmer, and handed medals to runners-up Paris Saint-Germain, maintaining a festive spirit throughout the ceremony.
