Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, has pledged to end Nigeria’s reliance on imported fish by significantly increasing local production.
Speaking at a high-level consultative meeting with fisheries cooperative groups in Abuja, the minister outlined his vision to transform Nigeria’s aquaculture sector into a hub for food security, job creation, and export competitiveness.
Oyetola reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to supporting the fisheries and aquaculture subsectors through sound policies, technical assistance, and expanded financial inclusion.
