UK, 24 Nations Condemn Alleged Killing of Gazans During Aid Distribution, Call for End to War

The United Kingdom and 24 other countries have jointly condemned the reported killing of hundreds of Palestinians in Gaza who were allegedly trying to access food from Israeli aid operations.

According to international reports, the humanitarian situation in Gaza has worsened drastically, with growing alarm over civilian suffering. In a coordinated appeal, the nations called for an immediate end to the war in Gaza and the urgent release of Israeli hostages.

UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy described Israel’s current method of aid delivery as “inhumane” and announced an additional £40 million in humanitarian assistance for Gaza this year.

“The world cannot stand by while civilians are starving and being killed trying to access aid,” Lammy said, stressing the need for a ceasefire and unfettered humanitarian access.

The joint condemnation adds further international pressure on Israel to adjust its military and humanitarian strategy, amid growing calls for a diplomatic resolution to the conflict.
