FG Plans 500 Housing Units Per State, 1,000 for Renewed Hope City

The Federal Government has unveiled plans to provide 500 housing units in each of Nigeria’s 36 states, alongside an additional 1,000 units for the Renewed Hope City across the six geopolitical zones.

Ahmed Akintola, Director of Urban Development at the Federal Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, disclosed this during a courtesy visit to the Ondo State Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Sunday Olajide, in Akure.

Akintola explained that the initiative aims to assess housing shortages and implement inclusive housing development across the country. He further noted that the project is part of a broader national programme to generate accurate and up-to-date data on housing demand, supply gaps, housing quality, and access to basic services.

The housing plan aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), reflecting the government’s commitment to improving affordable housing and urban development nationwide.
