President Bola Tinubu has assured Nigerians in the diaspora that his administration’s economic reforms are beginning to yield visible results, with the economy stabilising and new opportunities emerging.
Speaking during an interactive session with members of the Nigerian community in Japan, held on the sidelines of the 9th Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD9), the President declared that Nigeria’s rise to its rightful place in the comity of nations “has already begun.”
He said his administration remains determined to reverse negative trends and make Nigeria a land of prosperity for its citizens both at home and abroad.
Tinubu reminded the diaspora audience that while it is a personal choice to reside abroad, the nation still depends on their contributions to achieve its developmental aspirations. According to him, government’s priority is to create an environment where every Nigerian, regardless of location, can feel the impact of positive change.
He further noted that governance is about “thinking and doing,” stressing that his government is committed to promoting unity, stability, and progress. The President also urged Nigerians abroad to remain good ambassadors of the country and to project its image positively, warning that poor commentary and negative reflections would not advance Nigeria’s growth.
