The Senior Staff Association of Nigeria Polytechnics (SSANIP) has given the Federal Government a 21-day ultimatum to address long-standing unmet demands affecting the welfare of its members.
The decision was reached at the union’s 77th General Executive Council meeting, held at Audu Bako College of Agriculture, Danbatta, Kano State, where key issues confronting members were deliberated.
In a communiqué issued after the meeting and made available to newsmen in Abuja, SSANIP listed unresolved matters including the release of new schemes and conditions of service, constitution of a renegotiation committee on the 2010 agreement, and the non-release of the 2023, 2024, and 2025 Needs Assessment funds.
The union also raised concerns over unpaid arrears such as promotion arrears, 25/35 percent salary review arrears, wage award, and the full implementation of the new minimum wage.
Expressing dissatisfaction, SSANIP accused the government of insincerity in honouring agreements and failing to prioritise the education sector.
