Tinubu Vows to Tackle Power Challenges in Nigeria’s Health Sector

President Bola Tinubu has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to overhauling Nigeria’s health sector, with particular focus on addressing persistent power supply challenges that threaten service delivery in medical institutions across the country.

Speaking through the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, at the National Stakeholders’ Dialogue on Power in the Health Sector held in Abuja, the President said it was unacceptable for Nigerians to lose their lives due to power interruptions in healthcare facilities.

“No Nigerian should die because of a power outage in hospitals,” he declared, pledging that his government would prioritise sustainable energy solutions for health facilities nationwide.

The President explained that the move to improve energy reliability in healthcare centres forms part of the Renewed Hope Agenda, which seeks to decentralise power solutions and strengthen private sector participation.

He also reassured investors of a conducive business environment in the health, energy, and infrastructure sectors, noting that government is ready to collaborate with credible partners, particularly in renewable and hybrid energy systems, to deliver lasting solutions.
