A total of 18 Super Eagles players have arrived at the team’s training camp in Polokwane as preparations intensify ahead of Nigeria’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches against Lesotho and Benin Republic.
The Nigerian national team opened camp on Monday under the guidance of head coach Eric Chelle, who will be overseeing his first competitive fixtures in charge of the three-time African champions.
The players currently in camp include key figures such as Victor Osimhen, Wilfred Ndidi, Alex Iwobi, and William Troost-Ekong, who are expected to play crucial roles in the back-to-back qualifiers.
Other players already in Polokwane include Benjamin Fredrick, Samuel Chukwueze, Frank Onyeka, Tolu Arokodare, Semi Ajayi, Stanley Nwabali, Adebayo Adeleye, Amas Obasogie, Ademola Lookman, Chrisantus Uche, Bruno Onyemaechi, Terem Moffi, Moses Simon, and Calvin Bassey.
Nigeria will face Lesotho on Friday, October 11, before taking on Benin Republic in their second Group C match next week. The Super Eagles will be aiming to secure maximum points as they begin their journey towards qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be hosted jointly by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
