Abuja, Nigeria — The Presidency has lauded the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for its transformation into a leading anti-corruption institution, praising the agency’s progress since its inception.
The commendation was delivered by Hadiza Bala Usman, Special Adviser to the President on Policy and Coordination and Head of the Central Results Delivery Coordination Unit, during an official visit to the EFCC headquarters in Abuja. Usman led a delegation to present the EFCC’s newly developed Performance Charter to the Commission’s Executive Chairman, Ola Olukoyede.
According to a statement shared on the Commission’s official X (formerly Twitter) handle, the visit is part of the Presidency’s broader initiative to strengthen performance monitoring and accountability across federal agencies.
Usman noted that the EFCC Performance Charter was developed by the Central Results Delivery Coordination Unit, in collaboration with policy experts and technical support from the UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office and the Partnership for Agile Governance and Climate Engagement.
“The document outlines target baseline data and measurable indicators for assessing the Commission’s performance on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis,” Usman stated. She added that the Charter will serve as a robust framework for evaluating how well the EFCC delivers on both its domestic mandate and international obligations.
The Presidency’s endorsement marks a significant step in institutionalizing performance metrics across key government agencies, with the EFCC being highlighted as a model for reform and accountability.
