President Bola Tinubu has nominated three security and diplomatic figures as non-career ambassadors to represent Nigeria in the United States, the United Kingdom, and France. The named nominees are Ayodele Oke, retired Colonel Lateef Are, and Mohammed Dalhatu.
According to a statement by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the appointments remain subject to screening and confirmation by the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Once confirmed, the three envoys will assume strategic ambassadorial roles, tasked with reinforcing Nigeria’s diplomatic posture and engagement in these major global capitals.
