The Super Eagles breakthrough came in the 20th minute when Ademola Lookman opened the scoring after a move involving Akor Adams. Victor Osimhen doubled the lead five minutes later and added his second of the match early in the second half, capitalising on Nigeria’s sustained attacking pressure and defensive lapses from Mozambique.
Substitute Akor Adams sealed the win in the 75th minute with a close-range finish, advancing Nigeria to the quarterfinals.
