The Federal Government has announced that a total sum of 777 billion Naira will be used to complete the ongoing reconstruction of the 700-kilometre Abuja-Kaduna-Zaria-Kano road.
Additionally, a 14-month completion deadline has been set for the reconstruction of section two of the project, which has been awarded to Infioquest Construction Company at the cost of 525 billion Naira.
At the flag-off ceremony, the Minister of Works, Engr. David Umahi, stated that the 777 billion Naira allocation would be used to complete the remaining 282 kilometres of the Abuja-Kaduna-Zaria road project.
It is worth noting that the contract for the road was initially awarded to Julius Berger in 2018, with an expected cost of less than 155.7 billion Naira and a 36-month completion timeline.
Umahi assured that the project, which will feature a concrete reinforcement pavement, would be delivered in record time.
