Foreign Affairs Minister Tuggar to Lead Nigerian Delegation to AU-EU Ministerial Meeting in Brussels

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, is expected to lead the Nigerian delegation to attend the 3rd AU-EU ministerial meeting in Brussels, Belgium. The meeting is scheduled to hold Today, Monday 19th May to Wednesday 21st May, 2025. 

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the AU-EU partnership has evolved over a long period, adding that it began with the first AU-EU summit in Cairo, Egypt, in 2000. Since then, five summits have been held where valuable decisions have been taken to define the relationship between the regions.

The ministerial meeting, according to a statement signed by Kimiebi Imomotimi, will be preceded by the meetings of the African Group of Ambassadors today and that of the Senior Officials on 20th May 2025, respectively.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Foreign Affairs is expected to intervene in Peace, Security, and Governance at the plenary during the meeting.
