Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to the implementation of the ARISE Agenda, emphasizing that no amount of distractions, insinuations, or character attacks will deter him from fulfilling his mandate to the people of the state.
Governor Eno was fielding questions from Government House Correspondents on the video making the rounds about his family on arrival at Ibom Hotel and Golf Resort, Uyo for the 60th Birthday celebration of former Deputy Governor, Obong Nsima Ekere.
Describing the timing of the video as suspicious, the Governor dismissed its relevance, noting that the footage in question dates back to shortly after the passing of his late wife in 2024.
Governor Eno expressed disappointment at those he described as “detractors,” stressing that such actions are aimed at stirring unnecessary controversy and emotional distress.
He also highlighted the psychological impact of bereavement on children, calling for empathy and sensitivity in public discourse.
In a related development, Governor Eno extended heartfelt congratulations to Obong Nsima Ekere on his 60th birthday, praying for continued strength, long life, good health, and wisdom as he continues to contribute to the development of both Akwa Ibom State and the nation at large.
