Molineux, England – Chelsea advanced to the next round of the English Football League (EFL) Cup after a thrilling 4–3 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux Stadium on Wednesday.
The match burst into life early, with Andrey Santos and Tyrique George giving Chelsea a 2–0 lead within the first 15 minutes, both goals assisted by Jamie Gittens. Wolves pulled one back through Estevao before halftime, leaving the score 3–1 at the break.
In the second half, Wolves fought back strongly, with goals from Tolu Arokodare and David Moeller Wolfe reducing the deficit to just one. Despite Chelsea suffering a setback when Liam Delap received a red card in the 86th minute, the visitors held firm under pressure to secure their win and progress to the next round.
