The All Progressives Congress (APC) has fixed May 15 and 16, 2026, for its presidential primary election as part of preparations for the 2027 general elections.
The timetable was released by the party via its official X handle and contained in a statement signed by its National Organising Secretary, Sulaiman Argungu.
The schedule outlines a series of activities leading up to the primaries, including the sale and submission of nomination forms, screening of aspirants, appeals, and elections for various elective offices.
According to the timetable, the sale of expression of interest and nomination forms will run from April 25 to May 2, while submission of completed forms is set for May 4.
Screening of aspirants is scheduled for May 6 to 8, with the publication of results expected on May 11. Appeals will follow on May 12 and 13.
For other elective positions, the party said the House of Representatives primaries will hold on May 18, the Senate on May 20, State Houses of Assembly on May 21, and governorship primaries on May 23.
The development sets the stage for intensified political activity within the All Progressives Congress as aspirants begin positioning ahead of the 2027 general elections.
