The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has dismissed circulating reports claiming that James Omotosho of the Federal High Court, Abuja, was arrested by the commission.
In a statement, ICPC spokesperson Okor Odey described the video circulating on social media as false and malicious. The commission clarified that it has neither arrested nor invited Justice Omotosho in connection with any investigation.
“The claim contained in the video is entirely untrue and intended to spread mischief and mislead members of the public,” the statement read.
The ICPC urged members of the public to disregard the misleading content and refrain from sharing unverified information that could cause unnecessary concern or damage reputations.
This clarification comes amid a rise in misinformation on social media, with authorities emphasizing the importance of verifying reports before dissemination.
