NDDC Warns Public Against Fake Youth Empowerment Scheme Website

The Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, has issued a strong warning to the public over a fraudulent social media account and website falsely claiming that the commission is conducting registration for a youth empowerment scheme.

In a statement signed by the Director of Corporate Affairs, Seledi Thompson-Wakama, the commission clarified that no such programme has been launched and described the claims as a deliberate attempt to deceive and exploit unsuspecting members of the public.

The statement specifically identified the fake website as falsely quoting the NDDC Chairman, Chiedu Ebie, as announcing the commencement of the commission’s 2025 Youth Empowerment Scheme.

The NDDC urged members of the public, particularly the youth, to remain vigilant and refrain from engaging with unofficial platforms. It further advised that all authentic information and updates regarding its programmes should be obtained through the commission’s verified official channels.
