The United States has announced plans to finalise a minerals agreement with Ukraine, following a series of last-minute changes to the deal.
US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent confirmed that the adjustments were made late last night, but maintained that the final version remains consistent with the terms both parties had agreed upon over the weekend.
Ukraine’s Economy Minister, Yulia Svyrydenko, is currently en route to Washington to formally sign the deal.
The agreement, initially scheduled for signing in February, was delayed after a heated exchange between US President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
The deal is expected to boost Ukraine’s access to critical investment in its minerals sector, while supporting broader economic and strategic ties between the two nations.
