The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, has approved the appointment of Deputy Commissioner of Police, Anthony Okon Placid, as the new Force Public Relations Officer of the Nigeria Police Force.
Placid replaces the outgoing Force Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin.
The announcement was contained in a statement issued at the Force Headquarters in Abuja and signed by Hundeyin in his capacity as the outgoing spokesperson.
According to the statement, Placid is a seasoned police officer with extensive experience spanning administration, operations, intelligence, training, and international peacekeeping missions.
The appointment is expected to strengthen the Force’s communication strategy and public engagement as the police continue efforts to enhance transparency and public trust.
