Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals has reduced its gantry price for petrol to ₦1,200 per litre and its coastal price to ₦1,153 per litre, signaling a shift in its pricing structure.
The company disclosed the adjustment in a statement issued by its spokesperson, Anthony Chijiena.
According to the statement, the 650,000 barrels-per-day refinery lowered its petrol price by ₦85, from ₦1,285 to ₦1,200 per litre.
The latest reduction follows a series of at least five price increases implemented by the refinery since March 2026, amid ongoing geopolitical tensions in the Middle East that have impacted global oil markets.
Industry observers say the downward review is expected to influence fuel supply costs across distribution channels, including depots and retail outlets, potentially offering some relief to consumers if reflected in pump prices.
The development marks a notable adjustment in domestic fuel pricing dynamics, as stakeholders continue to monitor trends in both local refining capacity and international crude oil conditions.
