The Akwa Ibom State Government says the administration of Governor Umo Eno has recorded what it described as a “significant milestone” in the housing sector, delivering over 1,048 housing units in less than three years in office.
The Commissioner for Information, Aniekan Ummanah, made the disclosure in Uyo on Monday while speaking with newsmen, where he outlined progress under the state’s housing programme.
“Governor Umo Eno has recorded a significant milestone in the housing sector, delivering over 1,048 housing units in less than three years,” Ummanah said.
He explained that housing development remains a key pillar of the administration’s 17-point ARISE Agenda, adding that targeted interventions have been designed to support different categories of residents.
According to him, more than 150 civil servants on Grade Levels 1–7 have benefited from 150 housing units provided free of charge by the state government.
Ummanah also disclosed that 355 vulnerable persons have so far received homes under the ARISE Compassionate Homes scheme out of 438 completed units, with the broader target set at 500.
He added that several other housing projects across the state are currently at various stages of completion as part of ongoing efforts to expand access to affordable accommodation.
