Chelle Expects Tough Clash as Super Eagles Face Zimbabwe in Unity Cup Semi-Final

Super Eagles Head Coach, Éric Chelle, says he is expecting a difficult encounter against the Zimbabwe national football team in the semi-final of the 2026 Unity Cup in London.

Nigeria and Zimbabwe are scheduled to face off tonight at the Valley Stadium, with the winner advancing to the final of the invitational tournament.

The victorious side will meet either the Jamaica national football team or the India national football team in the final. Speaking ahead of the match, Chelle described Zimbabwe as a strong and highly motivated team determined to secure victory.

Meanwhile, President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Rangers International F.C. on winning the 2025/2026 Nigeria Premier Football League title.

In a statement issued by the Presidency through the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu praised the club’s management, players, and supporters for securing a record ninth league title.

Rangers International finished top of the league table with 68 points from 38 matches, edging out closest rivals Rivers United F.C. in a closely contested title race.
