The newly elected All Progressives Congress (APC) Chapter Chairman in Essien Udim Local Government Area, Nsikan Ekam, has expressed appreciation to Senate President Godswill Akpabio, his wife, Ekaette Akpabio, and Akwa Ibom State Governor Umo Eno for their support and confidence which led to his emergence as chapter chairman.
In a statement signed by Ekam and made available to Planet News, the new chairman pledged to run an open, honest, transparent, and inclusive administration, stressing that the interests of the party and Essien Udim people would remain paramount in line with the directives of the party leadership.
Ekam also paid tribute to his predecessor, Ntiedo Usoro, whom he described as a loyal party man known for service and patriotism. He assured members that his administration would build on the achievements recorded under the former leadership, particularly in fostering unity within the APC family in Essien Udim.
He further pledged to consolidate ongoing efforts in the electronic registration of party members and support participation in the Independent National Electoral Commission’s Continuous Voter Registration exercise.
The chairman said he does not take the support and solidarity shown to him for granted, promising loyalty and commitment to the vision, ideals, and philosophy of the APC while working to strengthen the party’s successes in the local government area.
Ekam also expressed gratitude to APC stakeholders, chieftains, elder statesmen, and party members across all units and wards in Essien Udim for the confidence reposed in him, assuring that he would lead the party with fairness and justice.
