Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has approved the immediate disbursement of ₦50 billion to contractors whose Interim Payment Certificates (IPCs) are ready for processing.
The directive came during an unscheduled inspection of the Ibom Model Farm project in Ikot Edibon, Nsit Ubium Local Government Area on Monday. Governor Eno instructed the Commissioner for Works and Fire Service to liaise with the Office of the Accountant General to ensure prompt payment of all verified IPCs.
The governor emphasized the importance of leveraging the ongoing dry season to accelerate construction and infrastructure development across the state. He stressed that contractors must be remobilized to their respective sites without delay.
To ensure strict compliance, Governor Eno tasked his Executive Assistant and Chief Delivery Adviser, Aniefiok Johnson, with deploying monitoring teams to track progress and report on contractor adherence to project timelines.
The move is part of the administration’s commitment to fast-tracking development projects and ensuring timely delivery of public infrastructure in Akwa Ibom State.
