Governor Umo Eno Urges Diaspora Investment in Akwa Ibom

Commends Emmah Isong at Uyo Arena Groundbreaking

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno, has called on indigenes of the state living and conducting business outside its borders to channel investments back home, stressing that such contributions are essential for the development and well-being of the people.

The Governor made the appeal during the groundbreaking ceremony of a new arena project in Uyo, an investment initiative spearheaded by Ikono-born Archbishop, Emmah Isong.

Speaking at the event, Governor Eno praised Archbishop Isong for what he described as a bold and commendable decision to invest in his home state. He encouraged other affluent Akwa Ibom indigenes to emulate the gesture, noting that such investments would generate employment opportunities and accelerate development alongside ongoing government efforts.

As part of the state’s support for the project, the Governor directed the Commissioner for Power, Iniobong Robson, to provide a new transformer for the facility. He also assured that the government would continue to offer the necessary backing to ensure the success of the initiative.
