Gunmen Behead 30-Year-Old Man in Fresh Plateau Attack

Fresh violence has struck Plateau State following the brutal killing of a 30-year-old man in Bassa Local Government Area.

The victim, identified as Elisha Abbas Saku, was reportedly ambushed and beheaded by suspected gunmen during a late-night attack in the Riwhie-Chwo community of Miango District. The incident, which occurred on Thursday night, has left residents in shock and fear.

According to community sources, the attackers stormed the area at about 10 p.m., carrying out what has been described as a coordinated assault before fleeing the scene. The killing has further heightened tensions in the already troubled locality.

Local groups, including the Irigwe Youth Movement, have condemned the attack, describing it as barbaric and unprovoked. They also called for justice and increased protection for vulnerable communities in the area.

The latest incident adds to a growing list of violent attacks in Plateau State, a region that has witnessed recurring clashes and killings in recent months.

Residents say the continued attacks have created an atmosphere of fear, with many urging security agencies to step up efforts to prevent further bloodshed.

As of now, authorities are yet to officially confirm arrests or identify those responsible for the attack.

The killing underscores the persistent security challenges facing communities in Nigeria’s Middle Belt, where cycles of violence continue to disrupt lives and livelihoods.
