I Didn’t Buy ADC Form To Become Running Mate — Amaechi

Former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, has said he did not purchase the presidential nomination form of the African Democratic Congress with the intention of becoming a vice-presidential candidate.

Amaechi made the clarification while speaking on the ongoing contest for the ADC presidential ticket.

He stressed that any move towards a consensus arrangement within the party must involve proper consultation among all aspirants.

According to him, if no agreement is reached, all contenders should proceed to the party primaries to test their popularity.

Amaechi further declared that he remains fully committed to the presidential race and rejected suggestions that he could step down to become a running mate.

The former Rivers State governor also reaffirmed his earlier position in his disagreement with former Vice President Atiku Abubakar over the zoning of the party’s presidential ticket.
