Manchester City secured their ninth Carabao Cup title with a 2-0 victory over Arsenal, thanks to a brilliant double from left-back Nico O’Reilly.
The England international capitalised on errors from Arsenal goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga, opening the scoring with a close-range header in the 60th minute before doubling City’s lead just four minutes later with another precise header.
O’Reilly, who was converted from a midfielder to a defender by manager Pep Guardiola after breaking into the first team, said his experience in attacking positions helped him exploit Arsenal’s mistakes effectively.
The win adds another trophy to Guardiola’s collection and reinforces Manchester City’s dominance in domestic cup competitions.
