Tinubu Appoints Tunji Disu as Acting Inspector-General of Police

President Bola Tinubu has appointed Assistant Inspector-General of Police Tunji Disu as the Acting Inspector-General of Police following the resignation of Kayode Egbetokun.

In a statement issued by the President’s spokesman, Bayo Onanuga, the appointment was said to be in response to the prevailing security challenges facing the country and in accordance with existing laws and legal provisions.

The statement added that President Tinubu approved Disu’s appointment with immediate effect.

Prior to his elevation, Disu served as Assistant Inspector-General in charge of the Force Criminal Investigation Department Annex in Alagbon, Lagos, where he was promoted to the rank of Assistant Inspector-General of Police last year.
