President Tinubu Visits Plateau State, Assures Residents After Deadly Attack

JOS, NIGERIA — President Bola Tinubu has consoled residents and families affected by Sunday’s deadly attack in Plateau State, which left at least 28 people dead and 22 others injured. During his visit to Jos, the President interacted with government officials, traditional leaders, and families impacted by the violence, assuring them that such incidents will not recur.

Addressing a woman who was seen holding her deceased son in a viral video following the attack, Tinubu pledged to support and comfort her. He also commended the Armed Forces for their efforts in responding to the attack and urged them to intensify operations to apprehend the perpetrators.

As part of measures to strengthen security, the President announced that the Minister of Communications, Bosun Tijani, will oversee the installation of approximately 5,000 security cameras across the state to assist law enforcement agencies in identifying criminal elements.

Following his visit to Plateau State, President Tinubu traveled to Lagos to observe the Good Friday holiday, where he is expected to commission key infrastructure projects executed under the administration of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu as part of Easter period activities.
