Fresh Plateau Attack Leaves Two Dead in Kuru Community

Jos — Two people have been killed in a fresh attack on Kuru community in Plateau State, in what local residents and community leaders describe as a continuing wave of insecurity in the area.

The incident was confirmed by the Publicity Secretary of the Berom Youth Moulders Association (BYM), Rwang Tengwong, who told newsmen that the repeated attacks on Plateau communities have become “one too many.” He condemned the latest killings and urged security agencies to urgently step up efforts to protect residents and bring perpetrators to justice.

A resident, Dangwang Elisha, said the attackers stormed the community under the cover of darkness, forcing many people to flee into surrounding areas for safety. He called for stronger security presence and improved intelligence gathering to prevent further attacks on rural settlements.

“We cannot continue to live in fear. Security agencies must act fast to stop these attacks and protect innocent people,” he said.

Meanwhile, attempts to obtain an official reaction from the spokesperson of the Plateau State Police Command, Alfred Alabo, were unsuccessful as of the time of filing this report.

The latest incident adds to growing concerns over recurring violence in parts of Plateau State, where rural communities have continued to experience sporadic attacks despite ongoing security operations.
