ADC Welcomes Peter Obi, Says Declaration Signals Growing Political Momentum

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has welcomed former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, describing his formal declaration for the party as a clear indication of its growing influence and resolve to challenge the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Obi was officially unveiled in Enugu alongside prominent South East political figures, including Senators Victor Umeh, Tony Nwoye, and Enyinnaya Abaribe, as well as former Imo State Governor, Achike Udenwa, among others.

The party also announced that Obi and other politicians who have aligned with the ADC but are yet to formally register have been granted a waiver on the membership registration deadline, to allow them complete their disengagement from their former political parties.

Commenting on the development, the ADC National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, said Obi’s declaration is expected to attract more high-profile politicians to the party, further strengthening its presence and appeal across the country.

He added that the development underscores the ADC’s growing national footprint and its readiness to play a more decisive role in Nigeria’s political landscape.
