Nigerian entertainer Portable has issued a bold challenge to heavyweight boxing champion Anthony Joshua, declaring he is ready to step into the ring with the global star—if a ₦1 billion purse is on the table.
Speaking ahead of his latest bout, Portable expressed confidence in his fighting abilities, describing himself as the face of Nigerian boxing and insisting that no one could take his “belt.”
“For ₦1 billion, I’ll take you down,” the singer said while publicly calling out Joshua at a recent event.
The outspoken entertainer is set to face fellow content creator Carter Efe in an exhibition boxing match scheduled for Friday at Balmoral Hall, Federal Palace Hotel in Lagos.
Portable previously revealed that he received ₦40 million for agreeing to the fight. He also claimed that businessman E-Money and music executive Soso Soberekon promised him an additional ₦50 million and a car if he emerges victorious.
Carter Efe, meanwhile, said he accepted the match after learning that the winner would take home a ₦50 million prize.
Portable has increasingly built a reputation in celebrity boxing, following a string of high-profile bouts. In April 2025, he defeated Speed Darlington in a widely discussed fight. He also secured wins against actor Charles Okocha in December 2023 and Kelvin Power in February 2024.
With his latest fight looming, Portable’s challenge to Joshua adds another layer of spectacle to Nigeria’s growing celebrity boxing scene.
